Common Questions

BUT I’M NOT A CHRISTIAN

Don’t worry. Lake Mac Church is full of people from all sorts of backgrounds, faith traditions and non-traditions. Some of us have been Christians for a long time, others have just started following Jesus, and some are exploring the claims Jesus made. We’d love to have you join us no matter where you’re at with God.

WHEN SHOULD I ARRIVE?

The service kicks off at 4pm but lots of people arrive between 3.30 and 3.45 to enjoy a barista-made coffee, chat with the others who are there and find a seat.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

You don’t need to dress up to come to church. Dress like you would at the shops. We really just want you to relax—forget about what other people think.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

As you walk in there'll usually be a few people to say hi and offer you a name tag (helps to know who you’re talking to!). Then if there's time, you can grab a coffee. Feel free to sit anywhere you like.

We start off with a couple of songs before the kids are invited to join in our Kids Church program.

The adults spend time hearing a chunk of the Bible read and explained. Someone will lead the church in prayer, and then we sing another song near the end.

ARE PEOPLE WHO AREN'T CHRISTIAN WELCOME?

You bet! We work hard at making our gatherings welcoming and accessible to everyday people, because we're everyday people, and Jesus is good news for everyday people!

Let us know you’re coming

Come join us at Lake Mac Church and experience our warm, welcoming community! Let us know you're coming and we'll connect you with someone to help you feel at home. We can't wait to welcome you in!

We want to partner with parents to help kids discover and follow Jesus for a lifetime.

From babies through to Year 8, we offer a tailored program to help your kids know Jesus better.

Lake Mac Kids Church is a fun, safe, age-appropriate chance for kids to meet Jesus on their level! Kids learn in creative environments that match their curiosity. Through singing, interactive Bible stories, and hands-on activities, the Bible comes alive and kids discover what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

HOW DOES CHECK-IN WORK?

When checking-in your child on arrival we will ask for their age, any health concerns, and your mobile number so that we can contact you in case you are needed during the service.

We also ask that you sign your child out when you pick them up.

WHAT ABOUT SAFETY?

We're glad you asked! Safety is a top priority.

We know we wouldn't leave our kids with just anyone and we don't expect you to either. Every Lake Mac Church Kids leader has completed "Safe Ministry Training" and have undergone a "Working with Children Check" screening process.

However, Kids Church is more than just a physically safe place, it is also an emotional and spiritually safe place. We are a place where kids can ask tough questions and be in a relationship with leaders and other kids who support and care for each other.

HOW LONG DOES IT GO FOR?

Kids Church begins part way through our 4pm gathering and finishes when the main service does.
